Here at Social HubSite, we believe that one of the best ways to grow and strengthen your organization is by having a good system in place to allow your current members attract like-minded individuals. Your Social HubSite is well equipped to provide you a hands off, easy to manage referral system.

In this “how-to”, we are going to show you how simple it is to use our included Gravity Forms feature to build a referral system for your organization. First, we will walk through building the referral form for your members. Then, once you have the form built, we will show you how to enable Gravity Views to track all of the referrals in one place!

How to build your referral page:

  1. Go to your Social HubSite dashboard and hover “Forms” and click “New Form”.Building-the-Form-1
  2. Enter your form title and form description details and then click the “Create Form” button.Building-the-Form-2

  3. Next, we are going to create the member referral form. We are going to include, what we would consider the minimum amount of fields required. However, you can add additional fields and customize the form, to fit your organization’s needs. Let’s start and click “Single Line Text” to create a Name input.Building-the-Form-3
  4. Your single line text item will appear on the left. Click the item to expand it and fill in the desired options. One option that is important, is the “Required” checkbox. Check this if you want to disable the form submit button until all of the required information has been filled out.Building-the-Form-4
  5. At any time you can preview your form. To preview your form, click “Update Form”, then click “Preview”.Building-the-Form-5
  6. Let’s continue building our form. Let’s create three more single line text inputs, the same way we created the name input in steps 3 & 4 above. Let’s create “Organization”, “Email”, & “Phone”.Building-the-Form-7
  7. That’s all of the information that we are going to collect from our referrers. But, we also need to know who is filling out the form. (For this demonstration, we are assuming that one of your members is logged into your Social HubSite – If this is not the case, you can add more fields, like above, to collect your member’s information too). For this, we need to add Hidden fields that won’t appear in the actual form. Click the “Hidden” button.Building-the-Form-7
  8. Input the label of the hidden field.Building-the-Form-8
  9. Click the “Advanced” tab and input {user:user_email} for the “Default Value”Building-the-Form-9
  10. That’s the last thing we need to add. Click the “Update Form” button to make sure your changes are saved.Building-the-Form-10
